Hello everyone!
This is probably the most requests feature ever. It was made possible, it works only on PC as of right now however.
Today I wanna show you a script made by the user "Ms.Roboto" that allows you to share music via YouTube URLs.
It's really simple to use, I am going to show you how it's done.
Make sure you have the script installed. Tutorial on how to install the script is at the bottom of this post.
Using the script:
1.
Click on this URL and press the "Request temporary access to the demo server" button. NOTE: You have to do this once per day if you want to use the script.
2.
Simply add the YouTube URL you want to share in the URL field and press play. Songs can not be longer than 5:00 minutes.
Now all you have to do is wait, the script will automatically process your request in the background.
3.
Once the script has processed your request, it will play the song in case no other song is playing at the moment.
If there's a song already playing in the room, the script will ask you, whether or not you want to cut the currently playing song.
If you press "No" on that dialogue field, the script will automatically play the song AFTER the currently playing song has ended.
That's how you use the script. Pretty simple, huh?
Of course the script offers other features such as a music queue as well, but I will refer to the scripts own documentation if you want to use that.
Installing the script:
Install "Tampermonkey" for your browser. It's really simple but might slightly differ from each browser. The answer to your questions is just one Google search away. 😉
Open this website and press "install" in the top right corner of the site. Tampermonkey will open a separate website, where you will have to "install" once again.
Make sure you have the script activated as indicated by the green slider in the Tampermonkey interface.
Use this at your own risk!
I have read through the entire code of the script and I did not find a single security issue, however scripts like these can be easily abused by the ones who code them. The version that is available on this page as of 04.21.2021 is safe to use.
